Description

King ColorBoard® is a solid-color, environmentally stabilized HDPE sheet with a matte finish on both sides. It is made with King Plastic's proprietary K-Stran™ process, which is designed for flatness and consistency across the sheet. Standard colors are made to coordinate with King ColorCore® engravable sheet.

The bright, colorfast sheet is often selected for signage, playground and recreational components, educational displays, marine projects, and other indoor or outdoor work where moisture resistance, impact strength, and easy fabrication matter.

Fabrication and Handling Notes

ColorBoard cuts, routes, drills, and machines with standard woodworking tools. Carbide router bits with two to four flutes are recommended. For CNC work, tool makers class King's HDPE as a soft plastic, and an up-cut O-flute bit suits most cuts.

Adhesives are not recommended, so use mechanical fasteners. Drill pilot holes followed by oversized holes to allow for thermal expansion and contraction, and do not tighten fasteners so far that they restrict movement. Stainless steel hardware is commonly used outdoors and in wet areas.

Store sheets and cut parts flat on a level surface, and keep the material away from heat sources above 180°F. One side is masked to protect the finish; remove the masking before final use.

Care and Cleaning

For everyday dirt, use a cleaner such as Soft Scrub® with a nylon scrub pad or stiff nylon brush, and scrub lightly because too much force can mar the matte finish. A bleach solution (not 100% chlorine) helps with persistent stains, and citrus cleaner, alcohol, or mineral spirits remove grease and oil. Do not use MEK, turpentine, or naphtha.
