Description

SIMONA® PVC Type I sheet is a rigid, unplasticized polyvinyl chloride sheet used for fabricated components, chemical-handling equipment, panels, and general industrial work. It is often selected when a project needs chemical and corrosion resistance, rigidity, and electrical insulation in a sheet that is easy to machine, weld, and thermoform.

It is widely used to fabricate tanks, valve parts, and other chemical-processing components, and it is a common alternative to metal where corrosion or weight is a concern.

Service Conditions

The manufacturer lists a maximum continuous service temperature of 140°F for this sheet, and it is not UV stabilized. Review heat and prolonged outdoor exposure before specifying it, and confirm chemical compatibility for the actual chemicals, concentrations, and temperatures involved.

Fabrication and Selection Notes

Machine with sharp tooling, appropriate feeds and speeds, and good chip clearance. For welded or bonded assemblies, use welding rod, adhesive, and surface preparation compatible with rigid PVC.

This is a functional industrial sheet and is not manufactured to visual specifications. Masking varies between variants, and some sheets ship unmasked.
