Description

This thermoplastic sheet is a rigid PVC/acrylic (PMMA) alloy made for thermoforming, fabrication, and durable finished parts. It is often selected when a part needs impact resistance, stiffness, crisp formed detail, and a surface that holds up to frequent handling in commercial, transportation, medical, and display settings.

It is cost competitive with fire-retardant ABS/PVC (FR-ABS) sheet and is commonly used in its place, with higher impact strength and greater resistance to corrosive chemicals and cleaning solutions. It is less hygroscopic than FR-ABS, so it usually does not need pre-drying before forming, and it forms more uniformly with less wall thinning.

Sheets have a textured face: P-1 haircell in black or white, or a carbon fiber pattern in black.

Fabrication and Handling Notes

Heat the sheet evenly through its thickness and keep shop drafts away from the oven, since air movement and ambient temperature changes affect cycle times. Pressure forming, which adds air pressure to the vacuum, gives sharper detail and tighter corners and can reproduce molded-in textures.

When machining or sanding, use good ventilation and dust collection, and avoid breathing the dust. The sheet is not intended for use as a heat-resistant surface.
